Hotel Bangalôs da Serra took second place
The Braztoa (Brazilian Association of Tourism Operators) announced the winners of Braztoa Sustainability Award 2015, whose award ceremony took place on Friday (27) at the Royal Tulip Sao Conrado in Rio de Janeiro. In the category Hosting means, the Hotel Bangalôs da Serra Gramado won the second position.
"Hotel Bangalôs da Serra: More than a business, a life project" promotes the reduction of waste production, reducing energy consumption, water and diesel oil, local cultural dissemination through partnerships with groups of artisans and Parent Project and Children providing a differential service.
In this category contributed the following projects Cambara Eco; Bangalôs da Serra; Farm Field of Dreams; Jungle Island and Floating Inn Uacari.
Consolidated as one of the most important and representative bodies of Brazilian tourism, with national coverage, the Braztoa brings together the most reputable companies in the industry.
The award ceremony was held during the Convention Braztoa 2015, which takes place in partnership with the Rio Convention & Visitors Bureau. The jurors assessed the cases individually, considering previously established criteria, and their choices were gathered by Eccaplan, doing consulting Award and was responsible for group, make the vote count and list the five most voted in each category, so that if it came to names going to end. The result was the determination of the record number of 67 entries.

Sustainability in Tourism
In Braztoa, sustainability is not an abstract concept - it is applied in everyday life of our activities and projects. Braztoa pioneered internalize and disseminating the culture of sustainability for tourism operators and industry partners in Brazil, based on three pillars: socio-cultural, environmental and economic.
In 2011, the Sustainability Braztoa Program (PBS) was created in order to carry the concepts of the tripod set by the association - socio-cultural, environmental and economic - for practical actions that would allow companies to incorporate the benefits of sustainability to their management.
A major highlight of the action program is the Braztoa Sustainability Award, which had its first edition in December 2012: an unprecedented initiative to recognize the best practices of the market, contributing to the promotion of sustainable development of Brazilian tourism. The finalist companies Sustainability Award Braztoa gone through a careful process of evaluation and analysis of the following judges:

- Global Alliance for Sustainable Tourism (UNEP / UN)
- Rainforest Alliance
- Market and Events
- Ifaseg Insurance
- Alternative Pathways program (Radio CBN)
- SOS Atlantic Forest.
The guidelines of the Sustainable Tourism defended by Braztoa are: Respect the current law, guarantee the rights of local people, my natural environment and its biodiversity, consider the cultural heritage and local values, encourage social and economic development of tourist destinations, ensure the quality of products, processes and attitudes, establish planning and responsible management.
